200 automotive industry executives interviewed
Auditing firm KPMG interviewed 200 automotive industry executives about their views on the future. The interviews show that the company executives feel there is still a serious over-capacity in North America and Western Europe. Factories will shut down.
Profitability will continue to be under pressure, while at the same time development needs will continue to be great. According to the survey, manufacturers in Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe will be responsible for increased profitability in the automotive industry. 94% of those interviewed feel that fuel-efficiency will be the single greatest deciding factor for car buyers.
