Focus on sustainable transports
Fall is always a blur of activity. Lots to do and very little time to do it in. Everyone wants everything right away. And it´s suddenly becoming clear that the recession has turned in Sweden and the automotive industry is seriously up and running again. The whole sector is bustling with activity and initiative.
There is a lot of focus on Sustainable Transports right now. A lot of players in the sector are mentioning sustainable transports in their visions, plans and communication - Business Region Göteborg, VTI, Chalmers, Region Västra Götaland, Lindholmen, we at Automotive Sweden, and many more. It is one of our greatest strengths and something Sweden could become the global leader in. We have all the right conditions to create sustainable transports in Sweden. We have the technological developments, the alternative fuels and the testing environments to try out new systems. It is important to find forms of collaboration that include and invite the involvement of all concerned, so that no one feels overtaken in the race where everyone loses if they don´t pull together.

We´ve put a lot of time and energy this fall into arranging the Truck & Bus World Forum. This is a global conference for the heavy vehicle sector, where we are putting Sweden on the map as one of the leading countries in sector developments. AB Volvo and Scania will be participating in the conference of course, but we´ll also have representatives from Russia (Bo Andersson), India (Dr. Sumantran) and North America (Mr. Sonntag). The conference offers a wide-scale program comprising everything from large manufacturers to small and innovative companies. We will even be casting our gaze upwards and forecasting future scenarios for the next 10-20 years. The conference is directed at anyone interested in automotive industry developments and anyone who wants to join us in creating a future for our children in which we provide the absolute best chances for the cleanest and most sustainable transports possible.

Welcome.
