Fouriertransform expanding in Gothenburg
Swedish governmental venture capital company Fouriertransform manages the SEK 3 billion the Swedish government invested to strengthen and revitalize Swedish automotive industry competitiveness. This week, they visited Gothenburg. Per Nordberg took over as CEO on January 1 of this year and one of his first moves since then has been to appoint a diverse five-person team. One of these team-members is currently in Gothenburg, but the plan is to soon appoint two more people.
Fouriertransform's primary focus is in five areas - the environment, validation/testing, safety, intelligent vehicles and production. The five investments so far made by the company have varied in size. Fouriertransform invested SEK 60 million in PowerCell and SEK 10 million in Flexprop. Four of these five investments have been made in the last eight weeks, so it is clear that business activities are now seriously up and running. Yet only SEK 260 million of the 3 billion has been invested to date, so much more will be earmarked for other companies.

What, then, are the criteria for Fouriertransform to invest in a company?
·         There must be an innovative product or service with growth potential
·         The product/service must be attractive, with good profitability prospects
·         There must be experienced and driven management
·         Strong industrial partners who can support commercialization or expansion.
·         There must be good exit possibilities.
