The new engine family will be introduced by Volvo as part of its new VEA strategy — Volvo Environmental Architecture, a technology campaign that seeks to reduce emissions and consumption in tomorrow's Volvo engine generations. The engines are developed by Volvo in Gothenburg for manufacture in Skövde. Connecting rods will be produced in Floby, Sweden.
-“Right now engineering work for future engine production is in full swing. Installation and commissioning of the new facilities will take place over the next few of years. In principle the transition will take place within the existing factory walls in parallel with today's production," says Oskar Falk.
