We should be proud of our Swedish automotive companies. We must make sure that this is communicated to the younger generation so that they are attracted to the industry as a future workplace. Today we find that IKEA, Ericsson and Google are among the most popular workplaces in Sweden. We can get involved and change this. In Germany it is BMW, Audi and Mercedes that are high on the list. Our Swedish automotive companies must also be prominent when newly-graduated students are dreaming about their future. There is already a shortage of engineers in Sweden, and the prospects for the future look even bleaker.
We all have a responsibility to create an attractiveness in the professions of vehicle designer, automotive technician, installation engineer, mechanic or whatever it may be. Together with the companies we must ensure that we create a positive working climate and attractive workplaces. Being proud of our companies and products draws increased attention to the industry, which leads to an increased interest among the younger generation. This is crucial for the outlook of our future automotive industry in Sweden.
