Shanghai - tomorrow's most important car show
All of the major automakers aiming to secure a spot on the Chinese automotive market and benefit from the expansion made an appearance at the car show in Shanghai.
By 2015, China will be the world's most important automotive market and staking out a claim now is essential. Today, China imports more cars (813,000) than they export (566,200), with import value four times larger than export value. The largest export country is Algeria, followed by Syria, Vietnam, Russia, Chile and Iran. No export offensive has yet been directed at Western markets, but current export ventures are likely preparation for this. We should see an offensive within the next five years.
