SKF and Chalmers form technical center for sustainability and the environment
SKF and Chalmers University of Technology have signed a five-year contract to establish a technical center for sustainability and the environment. The center, which aims at conducting research and development in the areas of technology, manufacturing, business processes and business strategy, will be located at Chalmers in Göteborg.
The primary objective of the partnership is to foster close collaboration to provide ground-breaking and industry-focused research in the area of sustainability, which is a core area for both SKF and Chalmers.

"The expansion of our collaboration with SKF enables the results of our research to be put to direct use in industry," says Johan Carlsten, Vice Rector at Chalmers. "That is why we look for strategic partnerships like this. We want to contribute with new knowledge and ideas to promote ecologically, socially and economically sound solutions, and are glad that SKF finds this attractive."   The technical center at Chalmers is the third established by SKF.
