Two clear trends in Geneva
Electric vehicles are currently being launched on an unprecedented scale, and no self-respecting automaker would dare show up without an interesting concept car in their booth at the Geneva Motor Show.
The other clear trend was sports car models, and many manufacturers were showing either concept or ready-for-the-road sports cars in their booths. Saab's concept car, with its trailblazing futuristic lines, attracted considerable interest. The car radiated a cocky self-confidence. Another thing was also very clear in Geneva - many automakers are quite unabashedly putting a new label on an existing car and...viola!...suddenly presenting a "new" car. Fiat and Chrysler, Maserati and Jeep, Toyota and Subaru - quite a few have learned this technique. Sure it's cost-effective, but there's a limit to how much a brand can take - and it's hard enough to know where to draw that line as it is.
